SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 REVIEW Part 1

Warning: If you don't want to be told some things from this game please leave now.

Hello all people of all ages who are friends, fans my name is G3Ultimo and today i'm going to be talking about the brand new Wii game that just came out Super Mario Galaxy 2!

Alright lets get things started by talking about main title.

Like the first one the makers actually did put a lot of detail into it to help you be pulled into the game. If you look just in the right spot at the right moment you can see Yoshi right behind Mario and the luma. Not only does it bring a well dense of scenery but also the color is just amazing. That's also includes the file screen as well with a non-cluttered file system.

Now lets get started with the story.

Ok like any other adventure with Mario it starts off peacefully with our hero going towards to what will seem like a great day, as we all know there's something out there to ruin everything. While along the way to the castle he picked his little luma friend. Just when he was about to reach the castle a huge ship comes out of nowhere and starts attacking everything around the castle. When he finnaly reaches it he discovers that Peach is already captured by his arch-enemy Boswer who seemed to have picked up a few million pounds. As usual he gloats about his plan to Mario which is by far the most ridiculous thing to do and teleports away. After that he finds himself on what seemed to be an ordinary meteor in habited by a couple other lumas. When he was greeted by the large purple luma named Lubba I was a little surprized to not find a big huge stack of starbits nearby. After the luma explains what happened he then gets help from the other lumas and transforms the spaceship to look like Mario's head. After they did that he explains that they can't go anywhere far without the power stars we all know and love and you were on your way to the first level.

Next what i'm going to talk about is the controls.

If you've ever play the first one you would already know them by heart but incase you don't let me explain. This game features a lot of moves you've have expierenced from past games from the simple hop to the running jump. All you have to do with the controls being self-explained and really being some-what sensitive is that you sometimes have to time it correctly because one wrong move could send you flying off a cliff or into the path of an enemy or an object you wanna avoid. Learing these controls quickly is key when your in need of a quick turn or something. Also if you are collecting starbits with your remote be careful if your running because sometimes your eyes can easily be pursuaded to for starbits when you should be looking at whats in front of you. Luligi has the same controls as Mario only you have to worry about his hieght and his feet slipping.

Now that the movements are covered lets go to the power-ups.

We all know the common Fire Mario with his ability to throw fire for a limited time and Rainbow Mario when you get a rainbow star and become invincible while gradually gaining speed for a short time. The next three that were introduced in the last game are Bee, Boo, and Spring Mario. These power-ups will stay with you until touch a certain object, get hit, or use a launch star. Bee Mario enables you to fly for a short time while being able to stand on clouds and stick to a honey comb surface. Boo Mario allows you to float in the air and be able to go threw certain objects. This one will nullify if try to go threw light or another ghost even if you are invisible. Spring Mario allows you to jump at extreme hieghts. Spring Mario has a huge disadvantage when it comes to mobility though. If your not care while going down a narrow path or time the jump right you can easily fall from where you are. The new powers introduced in this game are Cloud and Rock Mario. Cloud Mario enables you to create three clouds under you for a short amount of time. Also you'll be able to jump farther than normal and decend slower. While you're on a cloud and there is some sort of wind current if you tilt the wiimote in that direction you float in that direction. Rock Mario consist of you turning into a small boulder and rolling over enemies and detroying some obsticles. Like Spring Mario you have a lack of mobility at a high speed roll and jumping so be careful. Also be aware that objects and enemies like a Chain Chop cannot be detroyed and will only cause damage to you. Another power-up which actually a tool is the drill. You simply find a spot where you're able to drill and simply shake the wiimote and you'll drill through the ground until you come out of the other side. Howevere the are some spots to where you drill down into the ground and before you can reach the surface it will be to hard to pass and you be sent back the way you came in. These controls work the same with Luligi as well. If you're lucky enough while you have your power-up active when you reach the end you might just take it back to Starship Mario and have it stored as a collectors item while recieving a small pun from Lubba.

Now me explain Yoshi's controls.

Like all of us who ever played just about any Mario adventure game withYoshi you simply jump on his back and start eating things. Well i'm here to tell you that there's more to just eating things with Yoshi. While being at a normal state you easily do what you normally do with Yoshi and help Mario collect starbits and reach new places you wouldn't be able to reach with just Mario. You'll also be able to use a launch star while riding Yoshi as well as swimming with him. If you take damage while riding Yoshi you'll be knocked off and then Yoshi will start running around panicking and you'll have to catch him before he runs off a cliff. If you take a heavy hit like falling in lava than Yoshi will summon an egg around him and warp away. I'm not sure of this but while you're chaseing Yoshi and you don't reach him in time he'll warp away.

There are three different types of special fruit that you'll be able to harnesh the ability it gives you for a limited time. The Dash Pepper basically explains itself and lets Yoshi run at an amazing speeds. While using this you can run up certain walls and run on top of water. This also lacks mobility. The Blimp Fruit allows Yoshi to be able to slowly float above the ground. If you want stop in mid-air for short time hold down the A button. Remember your air will deplete regaurdless whether you holding your air or not so time things right. The Bulb Fruit allows Yoshi reveal hidden paths for Mario to go on but you better hurry before it's effects fade or else you'll fall.

Now that you know the basics we'll get on with the main event after this break. Bye for now!
This is the first part of my review of Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Enjoy!
